This weekend's highlight was Awakening Festival here in
Virginia. It is an annual christian music festival filled with
great music, activities, booths, sports and food.
Beyond the great music, My favorite part of the day
was gathering with thousands of my brothers and sisters
in Christ. As Toby Mac put it, "This is how we party!"
Thousands showed up and the weather was perfect.
It was an amazing day.
God is so good.

Here are a few designers that I've been loving lately.
Monica Calvo is probably one of my favorites of
the moment because her art is incredible simplistic,
beautiful and whimsical.
I love fun walls. Joyce Warner designed these wall papers and also designs other home decor. If I never get to the mural I've always dreamed of making in the first house I own, I'm cutting corners and ordering one of these brillant prints.
Jap art + Make up = Tons of fun. I love Tokidoki.
Another Japanese Designer I love is Ippie Gyoubu.
His designs are always fun and his clients are huge.
Japanese Adidas, Dr Pepper, Sony and other big
names.
On a very different note Rae Dunn clay creations are my
cup of tea, they are both "simplistic and playful".

It's September, a few months off of any holiday or major occasion but there are a few things I wanted to put on a wish list. These are a few things that I've been eyeing, and I'll probably be eye for awhile. I just thought that writing them down would be a smart thing so I can refer back to this blog if I forget what I wanted.

I currently don't have the pictures I wanted to post with this blog but you get the general idea. California has some great food, and I love me some great food. I must say I had the best chai latte from Coffee bean and it totally caught me by surprise. I thought it'd be just another coffee place but their drinks, at least the ones I stole sips from.. were great. And their prices weren't half bad. I was quite sad when I found out that their aren't any on the east coast... at least not in Virginia or the metropolitan area. I could be wrong though, so if you know of one around the DC area please let a girl. As for my favorite meals... I loved the Hawaiian BBQ at Ohana and the whole Salo Salo Grill platter, it was amazing. Also Rokko's "rock'n'roll" was the best roll ever! [ shrimp tempura with eel and avocado on top].
But I'm glad to be home. California had it's share of good eats but Virginia does too. Here are some of my favorite places here at home.
