For you, from me

If you (yes, I'm talking to you ... If you just so happen to be reading this blog then, that's you alright), didn't happen to get an email from me (that could possibly be because 1. I don't know your email address, or 2. I don't even know who you are ... either way) ... I made a thanksgiving postcard just for you and I hope you like it.

God bless and have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!

Thank you

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.
His love endures forever."
Psalm 107:1

There are a million things I can sit here and say that I'm thankful for, but at this particular moment only one thing comes to mind. That is God's amazing grace, the beautiful gift of salvation.

Not even life itself is as beautiful or as wonderful as the love and grace of our Father. Without Him, I am nothing, we are nothing, this life would mean nothing. It still boggles my mind that God would love and save someone such as myself, someone so flawed and imperfect, but it only goes to show that God's love and grace is truly perfect and absolute. There is nothing in this world that I am more grateful for, not even my own life.

So thank you, Lord.
A thousand times over... I thank you for loving me.
I thank you for saving me, and giving me life.
Life abundant, and everlasting.
These words are still, and will never be enough
to truly express my every thanks for Your love,
So may every part of my life and being be my gratitude,
bringing You both glory and praise.
Thank you.

Crazy Monster

As I was sitting here on the computer spicing up my blog
... behind me a crazy little monster was on the loose.

All this time I thought my mom was sitting on the couch keeping an eye on Mariah. But big mistake, my mom happened to doze off leaving little Miss Mariah to run wild, and what a "Deesastar!" as HappySlip would put it.

Mariah had an open pack of chocolate pudding right in front of her, decided to eat it with her fingers instead of her spoon, and began using the pudding as paint. I thought I was imaging it, but started noticing the room smelt of chocolate... I just didn't know where it came from. Out of no where my mom jumps up screams and started laughing. Mariah put her hands all over my mom's sleeping face just to play around. And this face is what she saw! It's my fault I had my back to her for the few minutes it took her to put chocolate over everything, but with my mom right by her side I thought she'd be ok. LOL.. Now I know better...

Where was my sister you ask?
She was in the other room sewing.

I love our crazy monster!

Favorite things

Yesterday was Oprah's Favorite things. As usual Oprah had a whole bunch of lovely things an her list, out of the bunch here are three that I really really liked. And all three of them just so happen to deal with cooking food. YAY for Kitchen appliances!!!

What I failed to mention in my previous blog was that both me and my sister had quite a lovely time in the kitchen appliances aisle of the store ... taking mental notes of what to add to our Christmas wishlist. Because me and my sister have the tendency to do just about everything together, the things we wanted would be a collective gift for the two of us. LOL. You should seriously check out her blog about it, Kitchen girls.

Since Oprah gets to share a few of her favorite things, I thought I'd share a few favorites of my own. These are the things that I absolutely love and possibly can't live without (ok 'twas an exaggeration but I'm hoping you get the point.)

Fabric Day and New Year's Eve

I'm a bit ahead of myself for posting this, but I couldn't help myself.

Every single monday for us sisters is now and forever more: "Fabric Day". For the past four or five weeks now, we set out every Monday evening to go buy fabric. We usually don't buy to much, just enough for a few projects for the week. Sometimes we only go to restock our supply of lining for our projects, and end up skipping the fabric buy of the week. It's a nice time to just be girly, and have "sister" time.

Anyways, coming back from our fabric time we were in the car and we had the radio tuned to 97.1WASH FM. And of course they were already playing holiday music, which in all honesty perturbs the heck out of me.

I absolutely adore holiday music don't get me wrong, it makes me feel all light and bubbly whenever I heard it, but because they've started playing it before Thanksgiving even gets here... it feels like they've overlooked Thanksgiving (my particularly favorite holiday) and have fast forwarded to Christmas already. They only started bringing in the holiday music a week before Thanksgiving for a few years now.. so it hasn't always been like this. (But what can you do?)

Anyways... the music was playing and all of a sudden I'm entranced by the melody of this unfamiliar song, but very familiar voice. And with out saying a word I noticed both my mom and sister were entranced as well. We got home and parked in the driveway but none of us dared to get out of the car yet. We wanted to hear the rest of the song and hopefully catch the title and the artist. The more we listened the more I was assured that it was my girl Stacie Orrico. The station didn't mention the song title or the artist so when we got inside I looked up the song and sure enough I was right.

I've loved Stacie Orrico since her very first album, and I even have an autograph poster of her from my sister who saw her in concert once, so I knew it was her voice. It's very distinct and sultry. But I didn't happen to know this song. It's a new one and perfect for the holidays, well for New year's at least. Hope you like it as much a I do, and add it to your Holiday playlist.

The video doesn't seem to be working properly on my blog so here's the link to Stacie Orrico's AOL session.

So............................................................
what's your answer to the jackpot question?

Collection of the week {08}

I honestly don't remember how or when I fell upon Rawlyn Farley's illustrations, but I had her site saved in my favorites. Her illustrations are fun, girly and too cutesy.

Rawlyn Farley is currently a illustrator for the ever soo silly company David and Goliath. "We make stupid stuff so you don't have to." Is their motto, and I love it. I still remember my first time seeing David and Goliath products. I was down in Myrtle Beach, SC for our annual chorus spring trip in high school and we went to the Stupid Factory.

The first thing I bought was my "boys are stupid, throw rocks on them" pin and from then on I started my pin collection. It's funny how random things bring you back to distant memories.

Kisses

I'm not big on chocolate, because it gives me migraines if I eat to much, but I do love kisses. They are small enough to pop a few in my mouth and still be alright, and just a few are satisfying enough.

A few months ago my family and a few ladies from church took a day trip up to Pennsylvania and went to Hershey Park. Specifically, Hersey's Chocolate Factory (the death of me). On the wall behind the cash registers was this gigantic poster.

I immediately fell in love with the poster.

This past week in SC, I went to the Market in the historical district of downtown Charleston with my best friend. To my surprise there a miniature version of the poster I fell in love with.

It was a tin poster, vintage and lovely.
But sad to say, I didn't get it.

I should have.
