A year ago...

my life went up in flames. It played out kind of like how today played out on a seemingly normal Saturday evening in February. The only thing on the agenda was choir practice and a play. Last year it was Hamlet, this year it was Some Girls. The part I didn't expect was the change my life would take on that night ...

It's been a year since and though everything has changed sometimes it feels like nothing's changed at all. It's been one heck of a roller coaster ride and I'm not going to deny that it's been ruff but through it all I've only been made stronger in faith, in patience and in love. The Lord's been more than gracious and forever faithful through it all and I know His plans for me are perfect. I've come along way in the past year and I've grown so much. I wonder what is in store for me this time around....

This is..

My white twin who cuts her hair to look like me,
who bought a new geetar to be a rockstar along side me,

and who was my latest hat sale buying one of my newest creations, my "Uber Slouchy - Sweeeeet Hat" hahah.... Ok so the name is a little lenthy, but I'll make sure to change that by the time I post it in my shop.

For now this is simply a preview of pictures of the hat on Miss Hope, pictures that she provided for my blogging uses, and hopefully some time this weekend we'll take colored pictures so you can really see it.

(It's tan and I used the "puffy" stitch I love so much. I've made variations of this same hat but since I already mastered the originally pattern that I learned how to construct a hat from I've been trying different things to make it my own pattern and style.) Tis another hat to make it's way into my shop.

I'm taking this lovely ladies headshots this weekend ... oh what fun.

Sew Storm

Goodnight Moon

It's been a while since I've blogged a good hardy blog,
...it's been a very busy week....

But I say that with nothing but joy and graciousness. It's nice to be busy for a change, I'm not very good at being a bum. I find that my hands always have to be doing something, like sewing, drawing, playing my guitar, crocheting, and or designing.

Amidst the busyness of my week
I did manage to find a moment of solitude for myself.

{I'm disappointed that the picture quality sucks in these photos. I need both a better lens and a good hardy tripod for my camera. Also the light pollution didn't help much.}

There was a lunar eclipse Wednesday night so I slipped outside for a moment to bask in all it's mystery and enjoy the silence of night and of winter. During the course of the day there was a light frosting of snow ... so the ground was cold, and my feet were bare. {It was a really dumb idea to go outside like that, but I didn't want to miss the eclipse. }

Anywhos, I miss the moon ... I rarely notice the moon now a days.

During the summer time I always say goodnight to the moon before going to bed. I'm usually on our balcony {my favorite place in this house} either talking on the phone or simply basking in the pale moon light as the world around me falls asleep.

During the winter I'm usually trapped inside these four walls that keep me both warm and away from the beautiful night sky. It was a lovely site to see and it reminded me that I am but a very small part of all of God's creation.

Collection of the week {20}

The last few weeks I've been sharing handmade collections that I love.

This week is no different.I've been on a mission to find artists who develop lots of simple line drawing work, like BOYGIRLPARTY for example. I've been trying to engulf myself with "simple line drawing" inspiration and BOYGIRLPARTY does just that, inspire.

Not only are Susie Ghahremani's illustrations simple and lovely but her handmade products are as well. All of her work is simply lovely.

I do adore lovely paper goods and I can help but fall in love with all of Susie's goods. To do lists to memo pads, I want it all. Maybe I'll treat myself to an early birthday present and buy her mailbird stationary, I'm well out of stationary paper and these are the cutest.

or maybe I'll buy some buttons. I heart buttons.
