Six degrees of crafting

The world is such a small place. Last month I was given a lovely little camera strap from my Nikon, and it was bought from Maluhia's Etsy Shop. I've taken a good look at the rest of products and all of them are soo cute. I love the fabrics she uses and her secret keepers are such a great idea.

Well this weekend I went to {UM} College Park for the Filippino Culture night to watch Tim and hang with everyone from CP. Of course I hung with this guys, Russ {Tim's roommate} and he soo willing volunteered to be my Rini & Faith model.

As you can see ... he's quite a wonderful model.

Before the show I found my seat and sat with Aimee,
Russ' girlfriend and noticed her ever so lovely little bag.

It was another one of Maluhia's lovely creation, but Russ came in and said that his cousin's the one who made the bag and that she sells other handmade things. I knew exactly who he was talking about and I was totally excited to have put two pieces together like that. I heart handmade and how it can connect two random people together...

Ooh baby baby!

Again CONGRATS to the Medina Fambam!

There's a new member to our group of friends,
and a new group to the Medina family.

We got there just in time for a momentous occasion,
it was Kuya Melvins first time feeding the baby and for
once giving ate Javee a little break.

His name is Elijah Roy Medina. And he's absolutely beautiful.

Of course us friends had to raid the hospital
and visit the new parents and their lovely little boy.

We laughed and made fun, picturing ourselves in a few years and the chaos and craziness it would be if any of the rest of us were pregnant. We all came to the conclusion that it'd probably be a comedy in the delivery room if more than two of the girls were in there. Haha. But thats definitely a long way from now...

My mom, Lola Carol got to give Elijah some lola lovin!

And once the feeding was done, it was back
to sleeping up a storm for little Elijah boy.

He has some beautiful, and {not to mention long} feet .. hehe

Praise God for baby boy blessing and for blessing ate Javes with safety during delivery and for a safe and quick recovery. Baby Elijah and mama Javee already made their debut at church on Sunday only 6 days after giving birth. God is soo good !

Pass the Pequod please...

Have you noticed your Stabucks' cup

looking a little different now a days?

...well I have...

For this season Starbucks printed out a new "vintage Starbucks" sleeve. And upon seeing it, it brought me back to one of my favorite speeches from my oral communication class two years ago, back to my "Pequod" speech. The vintage {and original} logo made me think of Pequod. The name Pequod comes from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, a classic American novel and is the name of the ship in the novel. The owners, of what would soon be Starbucks, though the word Pequod sounds silly and wasn't a proper name for their coffee business so they went with Star bo, and a place on the ship Pequod, and tweaked it to perfection till they got to the solution: Starbucks.

... That was kind of how my speech went, just a little more wordy and with a bit more eloquence. Anyways I remember seeing the original logo, the one currently on the cup sleeves, while doing my research for my speech and brings me back to some good memories ...

Freelance Etsy Work

Handmade brings the world together.

Etsy is such a wonderful place. Not only can you buy and sell handmade, but you can also make new friends, build clients and work with other wonderful crafters from across the country, or even around the world.

This past week I've had both the honor and pleasure of working with projectgrabbag's Shannon Jefferson. Her etsy shop is full of delightful little dolls and kids stuffs, and her other etsy shop junkdrawer has an assortment of fun vintage nicknaks.

This banner is the final product of my design work, along side a darling picture of the beautiful little True taken by her talented and crafty mama Ruby. The banner is about 60+ inches by 27 and will be used at craft shows for projectgrabbag. It's been a blessing being able to do freelance work when I can and get my name out there. Praise God for His blessing.

This is my second collection of the week, as I try to make up for lost time.

Colorful chaos comes to mind when I look at jp33's
website and work, it's like a party for your eyes.

And I quote, "jp33 is an award winning website/portfolio that has been featured in numerous magazines and websites across the globe." They are a design and development studio with a very distinct and colorful style. I love their use of color and the organized chaos they build in almost all of their designs. Their clients range from Juicy Couture, Etnies, Sony BMG, SPLIT USA, and a handful for music artist. Check out their fun work.
