Guitar Heroes

My new found love for everything acoustic has everything to do with my [no so new] guitar. I've had my guitar since my twentieth birthday back in March but it feel as if I've had it forever. I'm not the greatest guitarist and that's the honest truth, and the only place I really play is in the comfort of my own bedroom... but my love for the guitar doesn't end there. There are absolutely amazing guitarist out there and they are the ones who inspire me to just keep playing for the love of music. Here are few of my guitar heroes (in no specific order). Sorry no pictures to show this time, but it helps puts the spotlight on the artists themselves. I've linked all of their names to their websites so go take a look and give them a listen.

I'll be found in you

I found Brooke Fraser as I browsed the internet for new songs a few weeks ago and instantly loved her songs. It's a very simple music video, but lovely and powerful in it's simplicity.

My cup of tee

The other day I was looking through my closet as I went on a mad cleaning spree and found my pile of t-shirts. Although I'm not absolutely crazy about screen tees when I do find a good one I'll buy it, but most of the time I'm just a lucky girl with great friend who get me great stuff. Each of these tees is designed so differently and each holds it's own story. [Starting from the top left corner I will share those stories with you]. 1. "Feeling the Love of Jesus in California" This shirt was from my friend Sharyl and I was actually there when she bought it at Forever21. At the time she bought it for herself, and because I thought it was the cutest thing ever I wanted to get one for myself but they didn't have anymore in my size. Later Sharyl's unforgiving dryer shrunk her tee to my size and ended up giving it to me. 2. My "Bohol" shirt is from my friend Glenn when he went back to the Philippines. Thoughtfully he got me a medium.. in kids, talk about baby tee. 3. My Favorite band + Palm trees = My lovely "Relient K" tee. I got this when I went to their concert at 9:30 club with some of my best girls. 4. "S" - My vintage super man shirt I'm pretty sure I got this at some random thrift shop. 5. "Thorn" shirt. I got this screen from an awesome christian bookstore in California. 6. Nacu My favorite Freelance designer to date. I stumbled over his stuff a couple of years ago at George Washington University's annual ECDC (East Coast Dance Competition) 7. "Volcom" A simple birthday present from one of my best friends. 8. "66 love letters" An Ephraim Clothing tee, another find at that awesome christian bookstore in CA. 9. "Triple Five Soul" a sweet find in New York's infamous Century 21 story located in the heart of the Business District.

In the mean time I've found a bunch of screen tee's I'd love to add to my little collection.

I love my Cheeseburger. What a line. I want this so bad.

Transformers. You gotta love it.

In the end we will be made perfect. The message behind this tee is so beautiful. Hit the link and get the story behind the art.

The Rise. Not only do I love great tees, and awesome graphics..but I love my beautiful God and knowing that there are designers out there loving just that makes quite happy.

The Poison.

She Rock

When I go online today I usually pay little or no attention to the headlines mention on AOL's main page but today's read: Women Who Rock Right Now. So I took a peek at the article.

Out of the ten lady rockers No.1 Amy Winehouse, No.2 Lily Allen and No. 5 Regina Spector were the only three that I was familiar with. It's refreshing to see these incredibly different ladies climb the charts with their undeniablly unique sounds and styles.

Pretty little thing

As a girl I feel that your summer wardrobe is not complete until you've got the quintessential summer dress, or dresses.. I have a small collection of pretty dresses, but here are a few I absolutely love yet don't own. I stumbled upon them online and thought that they were the prettiest little things.

Inspired

Oh how I love photography. I always have and always will, and my absolute obsession with my camera is full proof of that, yet I've still got much to learn about my camera, and photography in general. So when I stumble across beautiful photos I can't help but obsess over them as well. And boy does Kenny Kim take beautiful photographs. Coincidentally he's a friend, of a friend in Chicago, IL so it was only a matter of time that I'd stumble over his incredible work. I'm thrilled that there's actually an "I heart Kenny Kim" group on facebook, because I truly do and since joining that group I've actually had the pleasure of contacting him and letting him know how inspiring his work has been.

After a lovely exchange of words with my new favorite photographer, he introduced me to a new acoustic favorite of mine, Koo Chung . Koo Chung is actually a good friend of Kenny's is a independently signed christian artist based in NY. Initially I fell in love with one of his songs "I need you" that plays on Kenny Kim's website but once I looked him up and started listening to the rest of his work I was absolutely blown away. Chung's music is beautifully catchy, brilliantly worded, truly inspirational acoustically for one guitar player such as I, and is such a blessing because you can hear how in love with the Lord he is and his passion is heard through every note. There should totally be an "I heart Koo Chung" group on facebook now..because I love this guys stuff to.

Lastly finding Koo introduced me to other independently signed artists which have easily found their way to the top of my acoustic list as well. Thanks to the Internet and networking between brilliant artist both musically and photographically I have plenty of new obsessions. Such as David Cho, Jinny Kim, Me Ra Koh, and GH KIM photography just to only name a few.

PS. Not that I intended for it to be this way,
but I love how all my new inspirations are Asian.

Oh baby!

So I'm no professional photographer, but I do love taking pictures of these little ones. I love them all sooo much and taking pictures of them has become such a joy. They are so beautiful in all their innocence. I am not a mother, and won't be for a very very long time but I can say that I absolutely love kids and they are some of the sweetest blessings in life. Having the opportunity to teach little kids in Sunday school or even have the privilege to be a godmother has made my love for children blossom even more. They are so precious, special and beautiful. I thank God for little kids.

hairdon't

Since my last haircut my hair has grown a personality of it's own. It's a mess and isn't looking to pretty. I know I need a new do but I've got to wait it out for another month because I'm going to need some hair for a friend's wedding in California this summer.

Here are two do's I don't have. But I'd love to get them.

I needed a new place to hang out and get creative. So I started a new blog. My sister's probably the one to blame for this, but I mean that in the best way possible. My creative juices have been bottled up inside my little head with out any room to grow for quite some time... so this place will be my new creative outlet. I love to blog, usually more personal stuff, but because I've fallen so deep into my love for design this one's for the artsy side of me.
