Happy One Year!

I know this is a little silly of me do this, but I wanted to celebrate my 1 year on blogspot! It was about this time a year ago, I'm not sure of the exact date, but I know it was at the end of July that I finally found myself a creative little outlet that I could also share with others. I had my old school xanga that ran a little personal and was a bit wordy, but I was in need of a place to be inspired, to inspire and share the joys of creativity with the world.

Since starting up this here blog, I've reached a few of my mini goals in the last 12 months. Inspiration was number one on my list, both for myself and for others. I wanted to create a place when I could search and share beautiful things that catch my eye, or find artist who move me to become more creative or simply inspire me to be better at my craft.

I wanted this blog to also be a place to help inspire others to get creative. I think that's been my favorite part of it all. When I hear a kind word here or there that a friend has picked up a camera via inspiration Ica, or if they've picked up crafting of any sort having seen my blog, or just by visiting my blog they've started one of their very own ... all of those things have been a blessing to hear and or see.

Here are a few friends who's loving words have brighten my days, giving me the courage to share my work, and who's inspiration and friendship have been intertwined. {Just to name a few: Big Sis, The Besties: Em, Ly, Gie, Cakies, Reinna Sherie, Richelle Jean, Sheerwhimsy, Tim Tolentino, Aileen, Ate Sha }

Another one of my goals was to get my foot out there in the graphic design industry. And by God's grace I've been given opportunities to do a little freelance work ... and Praise God for friends and the internet which made it possible to do my work.

I hope in this next year I will stumble upon even more lovely finds that I can share with the world, inspire even more people to get creative, and continue to get creative myself. For everyone who's been an inspiration, for everyone who's allowed me to inspire them, and for those who've tuned in and checked out my blog ever now and then: Thank you!

Happy Blogging to you!

Beachy Adventures

I've finally found a second to recap last weekend's roadtrip.

When we finally got into VA Beach, after a long 6 hour drive that was suppose to only be 4 hours, we checked into a lovely little suite that Terrence took care of for us {my homeboy rocks!}

For dinner, Terrence once again treated out his
"Dream Girls" for a Surf and turf kind of dinner.

After our oh-so-delicious dinner we
headed to the boardwalk for some icecream.

Then by the grace of the full moon's light
we played on the beach for a little while.

I missed a certain someone so I wrote him a little note ... sorry it's uber blurry.

...dancing in the moonlight? hahah

The next night we meet up with the boys...

This picture cracks me up!

Once again we headed to the la playa at midnight to play.

Can you tell I don't get out much?
The fresh air got me hyper all weekend long.

Right before calling it quits for the weekend ...
we ended up taking a side trip on sunday.

We went to Busch Gardens down in Williamsburg
and had ourself a great time.

The end. Till our next beachy adventure begins.

Monday morning song

Happy monday morning to you.

Wedding Fun

I'm still recovering from last week's insanely beautiful and crazy weekend though it is already the weekend once again, but I've been itching to share these photos.

Last weekend we escaped down to VA Beach and Norfolk to attend my sister's college roommate's wedding. My sister was a beautiful brides maid and my date for the evening was my lovely mother, but then we ended up trading for new dates before the start of the ceremony.

We kept it classy by rocking pretty pearls
and stayed true to the color of the night, black.

Upon arrival, I walked in behind this ever so stylish man wearing Ray Bans and dressed to the nines, later I found out the was the FOG ... haha father of the groom.

While chaos still loomed around the reception hall and out back where the ceremony being held me and mother snuck into the "Holly room" to catch a glimpse of the bride.

She was lovely and all smiles.

Unlike alot of brides I've seen, Athena was uber laid back
and enjoying herself with her entourage.

About 15 minutes before the ceremony we were allowed outside where the ceremony would be held where it was blazing hot from the summer sun. I'm guessing it was in the mid to upper 90s, and by God's grace the passing thunder storms from earlier in the day were no where in sight.

Before taking out seats me and my mom finally decided who our "temporary" dates would be, since my sister and Maryanne left their two dates to go be in the entourage. I of course chose my homie brother man Terrence, and my mom took John for herself.

Out of the four of us only kuya John came prepared with his shades.

Minutes after taking our seats the bridal march soon began.

{skipping straight to the point}

Athena walked down the aisle with both her father and mother by her side.

And before taking Athena from the side of her father,
Brandon spent a little one on one with the Lord.

Love is patient...

... but the look on the Best Man's face told me otherwise ... haha
... it was hot

With Athena's Maid of Honor by her side,

Her Matron of Honor was also.

Athena was beautiful.

And so was the bridal party.

Of course knowing me, I checked out the photogs for the day who happened to be members of Athena's church. I was some what jealous but at the same time relieved that Athena could get two guys to shoot for her big day.

I was worried a little bit because I was asked months ago by the bride if I could do the honors of being her wedding photographer, but because of my lack of self confidence in my photography and the lack of a few resource, with a lack of experience I turned the job down. I was absolutely honored that she'd even consider me worthy of taking pictures for her wedding, but it is such a huge responsibility I didn't want to take the chance of messing it up. Next month will test my limits for I was asked to do another wedding as the second shooter, but I'm super scared and yet excited to be trusted with such a wonderful opportunity. Athena's wedding was my practice round.

It was a beautiful and short ceremony and though I took a million pictures I've grown very impatient with uploading pictures so hope these photos will do for now. I'll definitely upload more of them soon.

And though the reception was just as beautiful and real good fun, I'm going to fast forward through it for now.

The night ended with a handful of fun pictures outside the Botanical Garden Center which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the night.

John joined in on the fun for just a sec before his wifey noticed his absence from the party. And boy was it good to be reunited with our brother from another mother for just a night.

Earlier on the dance floor me and my other brother/home boy
Terrence shook things up!!! Hahah, we pimped out a slow dance just to
get a few good laughs!!! It was great. I've missed his guts!

Sister was just as g.

And then the night ended with hearts all around.

I love weddings.
They make me happy.
